You've pulled a 180

Tina: Jim, I just came by to say congratulations. You've pulled a complete 180 recently. That's great!

Jim: Thanks, Tina. I've got to say, I've been having much better luck with the market lately.

Tina: I'll say. Your predictions on Helix and Sparks were, well, ingenious. As soon as I saw what you were doing, I started calling my brokers to get in on the action. Amazing.

Jim: Well, I guess after all that bad luck, I was due for a little success. But I figure those were just cases of being at the right place at the right time.

Tina: Yeah, whatever it is, keep up the good work. It looks like you've got nothing to worry about anymore, huh? Talk to ya.

Again we have a conversation between Jim and Tina, who you will remember was the friend who consoled Jim in the first dialogue of the series.

Here, Tina stops by Jim's office to congratulate him on his recent success. The expression, "pull a 180" means to completely turn something around. The image is one of directional degrees. If someone turns 180 degrees, they are facing the complete opposite direction. In this case Jim has gone from bad luck to good luck, a complete opposite. Therefore he has turned his fortune around 180 degrees. Notice how Jim plays down his recent success and does not brag about the fact that he is now doing well. He does not want to appear over-confident because he is aware that he didn't get to the position he's in by honest means.

Also, the expression "talk to ya" is a type of business slang that basically means "see you later." However, it is generally used among co-workers or colleagues. It is not something you would say to the boss.

再び、ジムとティナの会話です。トムはこのシリーズの最初のダイアログでジムをなぐさめていた友人でしたよね。

さて、ティナはジムのオフィスに立ち寄り、最近の成功を祝います。"pull a 180"という表現は、何かを完全にＵターンするという意味です。方向の角度のイメージです。誰かが１８０度回転すれば、その人は完全に逆方向を向くことになります。この場合、ジムは不運から幸運へ、完全に逆向きに変わってしまいました。つまり、彼は運を１８０度好転させた、ということです。ジムが最近の成功を謙遜し、今はうまくやっていることを自慢しようとしない様子に注目してください。彼は、自信過剰だと見られたくないのです。なぜなら、正当な手段で今の状態に到達したわけではないことを知っているのですから。

また、"talk to ya"はビジネスの場面で用いられる俗語の１種で、基本的な意味は"また後で（see you later）"です。ただし、これは一般的に同僚や仲間内で用いられる表現です。上司に対する言葉使いではありません。

Tina: ジム、お祝いを言いに来たんだ。近頃、すっかり巻き返したね。すごいじゃない！

Jim: ありがとう、ティナ。ここのところ、相場で運が向いてきたみたいなんだ。

Tina: まったくね。へリックスとスパークスに関する君の予測は、そうだね、独創的だったわ。あなたがしていることを理解して、すぐさま私はブローカーに電話をかけまくって、参入したの。大したもんだわ。

Jim: そうだね、たぶん、さんざん不運な目にあったんだから、ちょっとくらい成功してもいい時期だったんだよ。でも、あの成功は、ただ、正しい時に正しい場所にいただけだと思う。

Tina: そうね、いずれにしても、この調子でがんばってよ。もはや心配することは何もないみたい、でしょ？　じゃ、またね。
